A press conference was held recently at the Pattana Golf Club & Resort chaired by vice president Rujirapun Juangroongruangkit to announce the 2014’s Pattana Golf Challenge.  This is the fourth year for the competition, which provides an opportunity for all Thai and foreign amateur golfers living around the Eastern Seaboard to compete in a prestigious tournament.

There will be a total of four qualifying rounds, held on April 29, June 24, August 26 and on October 7 and one final round on October 14.

No official handicap is required to enter as the 36 system score calculations will be used and there are no limitations on the number of golfers competing in each round.  Each golfer can play as many qualifying rounds as they choose.  A rotation of the 3 courses (Andreas, Brookei and Calypso) will be used in each round making it more fun for repeat contenders.

Forty golfers from each selection round will be qualified to play in the final round and selection will be made via 2 methods; firstly the 30 golfers carrying the best net score from each round will automatically progress to the finals in October and they will be joined by another 10 golfers from each round who qualify through the lucky draw.

The best 120 golfers from the 4 selection rounds plus 40 lucky draw entrants will compete in the final round on Oct. 14.  The great prizes on offer include a 1-year membership at the Pattana Golf Club & Resort, special prizes from sponsors, and an all expenses paid golf trip to the Spring City Golf & Lake Resort in Kunming, China.

The finals will give an opportunity for golfers of all abilities to have a crack at the prizes.  Not only will the best 4 golfers (1 best gross score and 3 best net score) join this trip but also another 2 golfers handpicked from the lucky draw.

The organizer would like to thank this year’s tournament sponsors, namely Thai Beverage Marketing, 304 Industrial Park, Samitivej Sriracha, Ricoh, Soldato, and Bangkok Hospital Pattaya for their support in making this tournament bigger than ever.

The cost to apply in the qualifying round is only 1,800 baht which includes green fee, caddy fee, dinner party and prizes.  For more information and to apply to take part in this competition, contact Nathinee Suton at [email protected] or call 038 318 999 or 081 666 7208.
