Monday, August 7, Phoenix – Stableford

Just a small group of players today and we played the Ocean and Mountain loops from the white tees.  The course was in fantastic condition everywhere, an absolute pleasure to play.

There was a count back on the last nine holes between Graham Beaumont and John Anderson, both on 33 points with John getting the nod for third place.  Second spot went to Sandy Chapo with 35 points and top of the pile with a seven point lead over the field was Bob Newell with 42 points.

Wednesday, August 9, Silky Oak – Stableford

Greig Ritchie blew hot and cold today scoring a remarkable 18 points on only 4 holes on the front nine.  I will refrain from mentioning the other 14 holes although he did have a 36 point total which, unfortunately, was not sufficient to dislodge Vincent Smith from third spot with 16 points on the back-nine.  Auke Engelkes came good on the back-nine with 21 points to finish second with 37 points, well behind the winner, Douggie Crowe, who had 9 pars and 1 birdie for his 40 points.

14 Billabong ladies played at Phoenix Gold today with Miss Nu finishing fourth with 37 points while Miss Som lost out to Miss Da on a count back for second, both on 38 points.  Miss Pin won the day on 40 points.  Three ‘2’s today went to Nu, Sa and Pin.

Friday, August 11, Burapha – Stableford

Burapha A and B loops today with six groups playing, but out of all those golfers there were only two ‘2’s recorded, coming from Graham Beaumont and Dougie Crowe.

The winners’ circle was occupied by Rick Culley in fourth place with 38 points, him being beaten by Ray Adam on count back while second place went to Sandy Chapo with a fine 39 points.  Coming in top spot and playing off a 26 handicap was Greg Ritchie with 42 points.
