Sunday, April 17, Green Valley – Stableford

1st New Satita (34) 43pts

2nd Tip Briney (25) 39pts

3rd Nigel Harrison (29) 31pts

Due to Songkran and no one on the course, we switched today from Silky Oak to Green Valley.  With three 3-balls and no-one in front we sent out the quickest players first; Christen Boysen, New Satita and Tip Briney who soon left the second group of Nigel Harrison, Niel Smith and the Donkey trailing in their wake.  Bringing up the rear was Iain Jones and 2 friends from Australia, Ian and Gavin.

The course is still suffering from the lack of rain and spraying of the cow grass.  The greens and bunkers were fine though, which is the opposite to Silky Oak.  It was a nice change but a couple of us made the mistake of trying to walk the course on one of the hottest days of the year, as it showed in the scores.

Way out in front was the ex-Green Valley caddie New Satita who blasted the field with 43 points.  She was followed by her playing partner Tip Briney with 39 and Nigel Harrison on 31.

Wednesday, April 20, Burapha C & D – Stableford

1st Tip Briney (25) 34pts

2nd Peter Moon (21) 33pts

First day back after the water festival and with most of our members still on the road, we had just 6 players today.  The first 3-ball of Mick Coghlan, Peter Moon and the Donkey set off with just a 2-ball in front so we had a very quick front nine and this belonged to Peter Moon who started off like a pro and was in total control for the opening 5 holes but then the middle stretch showed their teeth and he had to settle for second place on 33 points.

Mick had a bad front nine but did a bit better on the back to finish with 27 points while the Donkey was hitting the ball well but the putting was a disgrace and with only 8 points on the back nine he finished on just 23.

Tip Briney, in the second group with Barry Oats & Nigel Harrison, took the spoils today with 34 points.  Playing partners Nigel and Barry finished on 29 and 23 points respectively.

Friday, April 22, Mt. Shadow – Stableford

A Flight

1st Christen Boysen (10) 33pts

2nd Phil Davies (13) 33pts

3rd Bobby (22) 30pts

B Flight

1st Tip Briney (25) 36pts

2nd Nim Jareeyaporn (30) 35pts

3rd Mogen’s Melander (25) 32pts

Things are slowly picking up with the numbers and we had 14 out today, so it was 2 flights with 3 places up for grabs in each.

With the fairways hard and fast and the same for the greens there was no-one able to beat their handicap today.  In A flight it was the same old faces at the front, Christen beating Phil on count back, both with 33 points, while Bobby (Somchai) came in third with 30.

B flight saw a bit better scoring with Tip yet again claiming the top spot with 36 points and Nim Jareeyaporn just one back in second with 35.
