PSC Golf from Colin’s Bar

Sunday, March 27, Silky Oak – Stableford

1st Colin Davis (19) 39pts

2nd Mogen’s Melander (26) 36pts

3rd Brian Anderson (5) 32pts

Well the low season has arrived, with only 2 groups out today.  The course was in its normal condition but a lot quieter without the Koreans.

Brian Anderson, out in the first group, set out in fine style with 19 points on the opening eight holes but the back nine took its toll and playing partner Mogens Melander overtook him to finish with a level par 36 and second place.

In the second group, The Donkey also got off to a flyer with 22 points on the front nine and he carried on his good form until the 15th hole where a trip to the water spoilt his card somewhat.  He still cantered in with 39 points to take the win overall.

Wednesday, March 29, Burapha A & B – Medal

1st New Satita (36) net 70

2nd Walter Baechli (15) net 72

3rd Peter Moon (21) net 74

A day after the PSC Charity Classic we had another small field for the Monthly Medal at Burapha.  The course was in excellent condition apart from the greens, which were recently top dressed and were a little difficult to read.

Just 2 groups out today and Ian Pickels took firm control of the first group on the front nine, just ahead of New Satita but on the back nine the amber liquid took effect with 4 doubles and a triple on the last 5 holes for Ian.  New, as she does, got steadier on the inward half to finish 6 shots better than the front with a net 70.

The second group all started like champs but this did not last as they realised they were playing medal.  Walter Baechli and the Donkey were level on the front but on the back half the Swiss masterpiece kept ticking away to leave The Donkey faltering in the wake of his net 72.  Peter Moon slipped through to claim third place overall with a net 74
