Navy FC gets backing, new strip for 2017 season

Navy Football Club is ready for the opening of the 2017 Thai Premier League this coming weekend after launching its new kit and announcing fresh financial support for the club to the tune of 30 million baht.

Royal Thai Navy Commander-in-Chief, Adm. Na Areenij and Adm. Rangsarit Sattayanukul, president of Rajcha Navy Football Club, were on hand along with team players at the club’s Sattahip Naval Base stadium Jan. 28 to debut the new black and white strip and talk with members of the press in the build up to the upcoming league season.

Na accepted donations from sponsors and supporters, including 10 million baht from Thai Beverage Co. and 6 million baht from Puifai Netting Sale Co.  He gratefully took all the handouts before handing over the team flag to Navy cheerleaders.

Rangsarit said that Ratcha Navy FC has high hopes to place in the top 10 clubs this year and expects to expand its fan base through its new Facebook page.  The page has 10,000 subscribers already and officials hope to reach 30,000 this year, he said.

Navy will start their campaign on Sunday, Feb. 12 with a trip to Bangkok United while local rivals Pattaya United FC begin their Premier League season 24 hours earlier with an away fixture at BEC Tero Sasana.  For more on Pattaya United’s build up to the new season turn to page 36.
