Local swimmers take gold at 14th Pattaya Swimming Open

The Pattaya Swimming Club took home the champions’ trophy, bragging rights and 10,000 baht in cash reward at the recently completed 14th annual Pattaya Swimming Open championships, held at City School 11 on March 12.

Youngsters took to the pool en-masse to show off their aquatic prowess and help move their respective teams up the overall standings, with the eventual aim of taking home the trophy at the end of the day.

Pattaya Swimming Club recorded 1,022 points from a variety of swimming disciplines at the gala and finished well ahead of second placed Team Blackmagic Swimming (388 points) and the Praphatson Wittaya School team in third with 244 points.

In fourth place was team Burapha Sharks who earned reward money of 5,000 baht while the final spot on the podium went to the Swimming Club of Rayong with 179 points.

Saeri Jampa-Gnuen, the Director of Tourism and Sports Development Division, awarded trophies and medals to the successful competitors.
