A fair sized group turned out for our regular Sunday bash at Green Valley. There was a slight breeze and it was fairly hot with high humidity but no one could complain that the course was unfair, it offering super slick greens and excellent fairways. However the scores showed that it was not an easy day for the lads, playing a layout that is readying itself for a upcoming Thai sanctioned tournament.

Once again it was the man in form Per-olov Lindmark who filled the top podium spot as he took a count back decision over Allan Wilkinson, both locked on even par rounds. Per and Allan were one stroke clear of Jason Senko while the man who is always there, Peter ‘the silver surfer’ Henshaw, took the fourth podium spot with 34 points and Lew Elbourne with 33 points completed the podium.

Monday, May 30, Plutaluang N & W – Stableford
1st Takeshi Hakozaki (15) 40pts
2nd Steve Newlan (12) 36pts
3rd Yves Mouthier (13) 33pts

Hey where’s the title boy today? Well the circumstances were not that suspicious and before the field could get too smug about keeping Mr. Lindmark off the podium it was pointed out the that he had taken a rest day to let his golf shafts cool down. So that left Takeshi Hakozaki an opportunity to vault to the top of the single flight with a splendid 40 points; followed in by Steve Newlan and his gross 84 (36 point) effort and Yves Mouthier with 33 in third.

Wednesday, June 1, Greenwood A & B – Stableford
1st Ken Hole (17) 41pts
2nd Billy Briton (20) 39pts
3rd James Morris (21) 34pts

It doesn’t seem possible that it is the first of June already, but that is what the schedule said as the society took on A+B layouts at the Greenwood Golf and Country Club.
Ken Hole took the top spot and the man of the match honours with a sparkling 41 points. This made Co. Wicklow’s Billy Briton excellent 39 point return look rather ordinary as he was presented with the silver award and James Morris closed the podium with34 points.

Friday, June 2, Pattana – Stableford

A fair sized group Left Lewiinski’s to travel to Pattana under dark and rain threating skies in the hope that all would clear up. Well it did for two holes then all hell was let loose so it was decided to call off the game and return to Pattaya.
