Tuesday, August 1, Plutaluang – Stableford
We went to the Navy course at Plutaluang on Tuesday and played the North & West nines, which were in good shape.
We witnessed a thrilling game between Neil Harvey and Dave Smith, both fighting hard for the win. Dave had a good front-nine with 20 stableford points, but Neil had an excellent inward half with 24 and his birdie on the 17th hole gave him the win. Both players had 41 points on the card but Neil edged it on count back.
The near pins went to Dave Smith, Paddy Devereux, Willem Lasonder and Neil Harvey.
Thursday, August 3, Eastern Star – Stableford
On Thursday we went to Eastern Star and found the fairways and greens in good condition.
Neil Harvey confirmed his good form again today, beating Paddy Devereux on another count back after both signed for 36 points. In third place came Willem Lasonder with 34 points.
Near pins were claimed by Paddy Devereux (2), Dave Smith and Neil Harvey.
