Today we should have been playing at Green Valley but due to the final day of the Singha Championship we had to revert to Silky Oak for the last time for the foreseeable future.  We had just two 4-balls out so no competition and with the course looking quite busy we did not expect a quick round.

David Ferris, playing in the second group out, notched 21 points on each nine for 42 overall and posted the highest score of the day by three from the Donkey who was leading until the 10th hole when he put his tee shot in the water and had to settle for second place.  Fred Birch took the final spot on the unofficial podium with an even par 36.

Monday, June 6, Greenwood B & A – Stableford

1st Colm O’Donavan (21) 35pts

2nd Marco Beer (16) 35pts

3rd Ander’s Soekjaer (19) 35pts

4th Barry Oats (22) 35pts

Just 13 players today for the excellent value course of Greenwood where carts were allowed on the fairways so it was play as it lies.

In their first games back and showing no effects from jet-lag, Colm O’Donavan and Marco Beer both posted 35 points to tie at the top of the leaderboard with Anders Soekjaer and Barry Oats.  Colm took the top spot wiith 21 on the back nine and 15 on the back 6.  Marco also had 21 on the back but just 13 on the back 6.  Anders came in third on the count back with Barry had to settle for fourth.

Friday, June 10, St. Andrews – Stableford

1st Christen Boysen (9) 40pts

2nd Peter Hynard (11) 35pts

3rd Marco Beer (16) 35pts

After a heated discussion at the pay counter we finally paid the amount we agreed to when we booked the course.  The layout was in reasonable condition but some of the greens had seen better days with some resembling a patchwork quilt, and with the tees well back it was not to be a high scoring day.

Christen Boysen, playing in the first group, came in with 40 points to take the win today and also recorded the only birdie ‘2’ to scoop the por.  Peter Hynard occupied second spot with 35 points after edging a count back over Marco Beer, Phil Davies and Colm O’Donavan.  Marco completed the podium in third while Phil and Colm just missed out.
