We said a final farewell to Ernie Picken who unfortunately lost his battle with cancer and was laid to rest today.  A great mate who will be sadly missed by all.

Again it was not a large field but what we lacked in numbers we made up with tenacity!  Playing off the front tees it was hard to find a good lie, if you were fortunate to find a fairway, and the greens as always at Bangpra were a real challenge.  The weather was a bit on the warm side with little or no chance of rain.

We had only 1 flight and Den Steele separated himself from the pack with 32 points to top the leaderboard.  Second and third places on the podium were filled by Sal Brizzi and Alex Field respectively.

14 players ventured out to Greenwood CG for the May monthly mug.  We played A & B nines from the yellow tees and as usual the course was in great condition but a little damp due to overnight rain, hence no carts on fairways which made it a long walk for some,  The greens played as they normally do on this great course.

The weather was quite warm (as it should be this time of year) with no rain is sight but, as the day got longer the lack of breeze made it somewhat uncomfortable.  On the return to The Swan we greeted many red faces and that had nothing to do with scores, more to do with lack of sunblock.

With a small field we were to play 1 flight only, which made the day very competitive.  It was Sal Brizzy who came up trumps returning a fine score of 68 net (73 off the stick).  He tipped out Colin Stielow (net 69) who beat Shane Young on a count back, coming in second and third respectively, with fourth place going to Martin Kempton on net 71, beating the count back king Steve Younger.
