The Backyard Golf Society

After no write-ups for a few weeks it was good to see a quality turnout at the Backyard Golf Society’s round at Emerald Golf Course last Friday, November 11.  With even the Chairman turning up and also being Dannie’s birthday everyone knew at 08:30 it was going to be a good day out.

Thirteen players, of which eleven were in all competitions, meant we required an extra tee time but as per usual the staff at the course accommodated us with no problems.   With birthday boy Dannie and his buddies in the last group at least no one in front could be distracted by the corks flying out of the champagne bottles (the caddies were convinced they were large bottles of Spy Wine Cooler)!

On to the golf and the close competition resulted in Tony D beating Martin on count back with both having a very respectable 38 points.  Bob G won nearest the pin and the skin results were as follows: Andy Oz (6), Martin (6), Neville (2), Tony D (1) and (3) rollovers for next week.

Thanks go to Candy and staff at Emerald Golf Course for supplying a birthday cake for Dannie even though everyone is pretty sure Oz had to put his hand in his pocket!  As per usual it was down road afterwards where Yok put on a good party at Kisses Bar of which there should have been photos but the cameraman forgot his batteries.
