Monday, August 14, The Emerald – Stableford

The two divisional cut came at 17+ and 37 points was the best score of the day with Paul Butler recording that to win division 1.  Steve Godfrey came second one point behind Paul and Shane Tutton was third with 34.

Peter Davies beat John Doyle on an 18/17 back-nine count back to win the second division after they both came in with 33 points each.  Bob Poole was third on 32.

Ray Davies, Steve Godfrey, John Doyle and Keith Wooley all claimed near pin prizes while Andy Crabb chipped in for a birdie on the 13th to record the sole ‘2’ of the day.

Wednesday, August 16, Pattavia – Stableford

The course today was in excellent condition with the greens a trifle slower than last time we played here, but still very fast with some wicked pin placements.

Peter Davies scored 36 points in division 2 but only beat Bruce Gardner to top spot on a count back.  In third place was Leo Adam with 31.

Yet again Paul Butler topped division 1 standings, this time with 35 points and Ray Daws beat Shane Tutton on a 19/15 count back for second after they both scored 32 points overall.

Near pins went to (Div 1) Paul Butler, Shane Tutton, Tom Yahnke and Paul Young, and (Div 2) Leo Adam and Steve Cohen.

Tom Yahnke and Steve Cohen both birdied the 17th for the only ‘2’s today.

Friday, August 18, Eastern Star – Rainbow Stableford

There were seven groups out today and the best score returned came from the mad dentist Les Smith who won division 1 with 36 points.  Shane Tutton rolled in second on 34 and Tom Yahnke was third with 33 points.

Frank Kelly, with a 16/15 back-nine count back, beat Frank Grainger in division 2 after they both came in with 34 points each and the organizer Glyn Evans was third with 31.

Near pins were claimed by (Div 1) Mikael Andersson, Colin Aspinall, Khalifa Nasser and Shane Tutton, and (Div 2) Leo Adam, Peter Davies and Les Smith.

Shane Tutton recorded the only ’2’ of the day with a birdie on the 3rd hole.
