IPGC Pattaya Golf Society at the Links Bar
The passing of the recent heavy tropical storm left Thursday, 12th January free of clouds setting the scene at Emerald for another PGS stableford competition. The seasonal field saw two flights divided at seventeen and under and the course was in very good condition, obviously refreshed by the recent three days of rain.
With many of the white tees set well back the course was testing and in the second flight there were shared winners with Colin Service and John Holmes returning scores of 30 points only. John also managed the only ‘2’ of the day, on the seventh.
In the top flight, Canadian John Chelo scored 32 points for third place, one behind Larry Slattery whose golf is very consistent at the moment. The flight winner was Ray Banks on his first round this trip with 35 points.
Keith Melbourne savoured the consolation beer and for the rest of the group there remained memories of an enjoyable day at Emerald.
