PSC Golf from Billabong golf 0248

Monday, 25th Nov Phoenix Gold Stableford

Phoenix Gold is in beautiful condition and it was just a lovely day for golf. A nice breeze blew under a virtually cloudless sky. All three nines were open, with the Navy lads having quite a large tournament starting on the Mountain loop. The Billabong started on the Lakes and finished on the Ocean in just under 4 hours.

The management and staff must be commended for their organization skills as the courses were packed and not a hold up anywhere on any of the nines at all.

With 5 groups playing we had some friends of Stan Ree’s making up the numbers playing their first game with us. Welcome fellas to the Billabong. The scribe has promised to give the boys playing with him every week a rest next Monday. I can’t keep dragging them down to my miserable level every time I play what some would call golf and others flog, but thanks for putting up with me so far.

Now down to the scores and count backs. Dave Bramley (I mustn’t be doing his golf any harm) shot 36 points off his 14 handicap and won 4th place on a count back by one point. Taking 3rd was Francis Goyons with 37 points being beaten by John Seton on a count back also on 37 points. Bob Edwards scored 38 points off his 9 handicap to win the day.
Ty Anderson got the only two of the day.
