The Amari Orchid Resort Pattaya will be holding an ‘Arts for the Planet’ exhibition at G floor, Central Festival Pattaya Beach and at the ICE Bar, Amari Orchid Pattaya from 20-30 September.  More than 80 paintings will be on display for viewing pleasure and for sale.  All proceeds raised will be donated to ‘A Baht for A Better Life Project’ which provides educational opportunities for underprivileged children in Thailand.  For more information, call 038 418 418.

A charity motorcycle ride will take place on Sunday, September 29 starting at 2 p.m. from Ducati Pattaya on Pattaya Third Road and ending at the Camillian Social Center in Rayong.  The purpose of the ride is to raise awareness amongst the motorcycling community of HIV/AIDS and most importantly to bring smiles to the faces of children who have been battling this disease all their lives.  Once at the Center, volunteers will be asked to provide a short ride on their motorcycle for a few children, up the side soi at the Center (Soi Kiri) no more than a few hundred meters each way.  Also a chocolate bar or ice-cream (ice-cream available on site) raises a smile as well.  Naturally as this Center runs entirely on donations from benevolent supporters anything else you can contribute will be very welcome.  While at the Center there will cold soft drinks provided for the riders.  All make and models of motorcycle are very welcome to join on the day.  For more information, go to www.hiv-aids-kids.org/.

The 3rd Perfume Shop Football Tournament will take place at Planet Football on Sunday 29th September. Three age groups, nine and under, 10-11 and 12-13 are invited to register and compete for the prestigious winner’s trophy. Registration is 2,500 baht for a team of 10 and all players will receive a free soccer shirt. Proceeds will go to the Father Ray Foundation.

Clubs and Associations

The next Pattaya City Expats Club (PCEC) meeting will be on Sunday, Sept. 15.  Everyone is warmly welcome.  The speaker will be Larry Howard on the topic of “The joy of fishing.”  He will talk about his worldwide experiences as well as the many fishing opportunities available in Thailand.  The Club meets every Sunday morning at the Tavern by the Sea restaurant located on the north end of Beach Road (part of the Amari Orchid Resort).  The program starts as usual at 10:30 a.m. with a buffet breakfast available from 9 to 11 a.m.
