Events

The next meeting of the Pattaya City Expats Club (PCEC) will be held on Sunday, January 28. Australian members of the PCEC will be explaining about how to become an Aussie for a Day. The program starts at 10:30 a.m. with a buffet breakfast available from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. on the 4th floor of the Holiday Inn’s Executive Tower, located behind the Holiday Inn’s Bay Tower on Beach Road.

The Royal British Legion will be holding its monthly social event at Hemingways, Jomtien on Saturday January 27 from 2pm – 6pm. You don’t need to be ex-services to attend and everyone is welcome. Light refreshments will be served during the event. For more information, call 0827 440 168.

The PEA Happy Run 2018 will take place on January 27 from a provisional start point at Bali Hai Pier in south Pattaya. Four race distances will be available for participants to choose from with the route taking runners up and around the Pratamnak area of the city. The 6th Jingjai charity cycling fundraiser will be held on Saturday, January 27 at the Baan Jingjai Foundation in Nongpladuk. The route will take cyclist through some of the most scenic areas around Pattaya and will total 41.5 km in distance. The 2018 Pattaya Bike Week, also known as Burapha Bike Week, will take place from Feb. 9-10 at the National Indoor Stadium on Chaiya­pruek 2 Road in Pattaya. During the festival, live concerts will take place all day long, there will be many food stalls, fireworks, tattoo displays, dancers, motorcycle parades, stunt shows and more. The 8th Pattaya Money Expo will be held at the Pattaya Exhibition And Convention Hall (PEACH), Royal Cliff Hotel from February 9-11. During this 3-day event, well-known commercial banks, financial institutions, security firms, gold companies and gold futures traders will be available to provide every type of lending and investment service and advice to members of the public.

The Honda LPGA Thailand 2018 golf tournament will take place at Siam Country Club Pattaya Old Course from February 22-25. The top 60-female golfers in the world including Thai No. 1 Ariya Jutanugarn, plus 10 invitees, will compete for the prestigious title and total prize money of US$1.6 million. Mövenpick Siam Hotel in Na Jomtien, Pattaya presents a noodle special menu throughout January at La Costa Restaurant & Bar. Yamato Restaurant located on Soi Yamato has been around for more than 35 years and the soi was named after its oldest tenant. Just look for the Japanese characters on the blinds outside. You cannot miss it. The menu is pictorial, which is a must when trying a different cuisine/language. This is a restaurant to take a few people with you. The legendary Somsakdi Restaurant has been in operation in Pattaya for almost 40 years. Proprietor and Chef Somsakdi is still cooking and running his amazing restaurant at 78 years of age.
