Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul calls on government agencies and businesses to prepare for spreading cyber threats during an interview at ICONSIAM in Bangkok.

BANGKOK, Thailand – Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul has instructed all relevant agencies to prepare for growing cyber threats, saying businesses and private organisations must also strengthen their defences as attacks spread into Asia. Speaking to reporters at ICONSIAM in Bangkok on November 8, after opening the Amazing Thailand Grand Diwali Festival, Anutin said he had already directed all concerned parties to be ready to respond.

Asked whether special preparations were needed given the spread of cyber threats across the region, he reiterated that government agencies must remain prepared. He added that companies, shops and other businesses also needed to establish their own protective measures and procedures. Anutin stressed that cyber threats were a technological challenge and that Thailand must keep pace with changing technology to respond effectively.
