BANGKOK, Thailand – Tourist Police at Don Mueang International Airport successfully recovered an Indian tourist’s missing luggage on November 7 after reviewing CCTV footage and tracking down another passenger who had picked it up.
At 7:50 a.m., the Indian tourist approached Tourist Police officers for assistance, expressing concern that another passenger might have taken the missing bag. Officers first contacted the airport’s Lost and Found department to check whether the luggage had been handed in, but were told that no such item had been received. They then coordinated with the airport’s CCTV monitoring room and reviewed security footage, which showed an individual picking up the bag.
By continuing to trace the person’s movements through the cameras, officers located a Myanmar national sitting with the missing luggage. When questioned, the Myanmar passenger explained that there had been no intention to take someone else’s belongings, saying they had mistakenly believed the bag belonged to a friend. Tourist Police officers subsequently returned the luggage to its Indian owner. The tourist expressed sincere gratitude for their assistance.
