PATTAYA, Thailand – Thailand is preparing for another spell of unsettled weather, with thunderstorms, strong winds and heavy rain forecast in several regions from November 5 through November 9.

The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) has placed 61 provinces and Bangkok on alert as a new weather system is expected to affect much of the country. Residents are being advised to monitor weather updates and prepare for possible flash floods, forest runoff, landslides and flooding in urban areas.

Upper Thailand is expected to experience unsettled conditions from November 5–7, with thunderstorms, gusty winds and isolated heavy rain. The Northeast is forecast to be affected first, followed by the North, Central region, Bangkok and surrounding areas, and the East. The South is expected to see more widespread rain from November 7–9, with heavy rainfall in many areas and very heavy rain possible in some locations.

Authorities are particularly concerned about areas prone to flooding, low-lying communities and locations near waterways and hillsides. Heavy downpours could cause water levels to rise quickly, while strong winds may affect outdoor activities and travel.

People are advised to avoid crossing flooded roads or flowing water, stay away from unstable trees and structures during storms, and follow announcements from local authorities. Residents in high-risk areas should remain alert for evacuation instructions if conditions deteriorate.

In Pattaya and the wider Chonburi area, the forecast is a reminder for residents, businesses and visitors to keep an eye on changing weather conditions as the eastern region enters another period of unsettled weather.
