PHUKET, Thailand – Phuket Province launched a motorcycle safety awareness campaign on November 1, bringing together government agencies, private organizations, and community networks to promote responsible riding and reduce road accidents. Phuket Governor Chodnarin Koedsom has presided over the opening ceremony outside Phuket Provincial Hall as part of the province’s activities marking the 2026 Month of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims.
The Governor also launched a motorcycle awareness caravan covering all three districts: Mueang Phuket, Kathu, and Thalang. The campaign aims to raise public awareness of road safety and encourage responsible behavior among all road users. Along the route, participating organizations promoted four key safety practices: wearing helmets for riders and passengers, not riding under the influence of alcohol, observing speed limits, and not driving against traffic.
The campaign highlights cooperation among government agencies, private businesses, civil society organizations, and local residents to promote safer roads and prevent accidents. In addition to commemorating those affected by road accidents, the initiative aims to build a lasting culture of road safety. Under the slogan “Safe Phuket: Think Before You Start,” the province encourages all road users to stay alert, follow traffic regulations, and take responsibility for their own safety and others.
