Nongprue police investigate a violent dispute between two men after one suffered a serious hand injury during an altercation involving a knife.

PATTAYA, Thailand – A 41-year-old man suffered a serious cut to his left hand during a violent dispute between two men at a house in Nongprue on the night of October 23. Rescue workers from the Sawang Boriboon received a report of a fight with injuries at 9.19 p.m. at a house in Soi Phatthanakan 2, East Pattaya.

Rescuers and Nongprue police attended the scene, where they found Thawatchai Ratchomphu, 41, with a large wound to his left hand and heavy bleeding. Rescue workers provided first aid before taking him to Pattaya Bhattamakhun Hospital for treatment. The other man involved, identified as Manat Jonram, 35, told reporters that the pair had been drinking alcohol and working together before an argument broke out over tensions involving another person at their workplace.

Manat claimed the dispute escalated into a physical fight. He said he struck the injured man with his hands and kicked him to the ground before the other man returned carrying a metal pipe. According to Manat, the injured man then took a knife from his mother, who was cutting grass nearby. Manat denied cutting the man with the blade but admitted chasing him while holding the knife and striking with its blunt side. He claimed the injured man fell on his own. Police have not yet established the full circumstances of the incident, and Manat’s account remains an allegation pending investigation.

Officers photographed the scene and collected evidence before taking Manat to Nongprue Police Station for questioning. Investigators plan to interview the injured man once his condition improves.

Police said they would continue gathering evidence and determining responsibility before taking further legal action.
