BANGKOK, Thailand – Minister Attached to the Prime Minister’s Office Supamas Isarabhakdi has instructed the Public Relations Department (PRD) and MCOT Public Company Limited to improve public communication on the outcomes of the 2026 IMF–World Bank Group Annual Meetings, emphasizing investment opportunities, job creation, and income generation.

The Minister emphasized that communications should clarify how global economic discussions impact daily life and how Thailand can turn international cooperation into tangible public benefits.

The meetings, held from October 12 to 18 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in Bangkok, mark Thailand’s first time hosting in 35 years. Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul has addressed the plenary session on October 16, highlighting the country’s economic potential and development priorities.

Supamas has outlined key topics for public communication, including investment in digital technology and artificial intelligence, workforce development, green finance, clean energy, and trade cooperation. She stressed that communications should help workers prepare for new industries and help SMEs adapt their strategies.

The Minister instructed both agencies to work with the Ministry of Finance, the Bank of Thailand, and other relevant organizations to produce accurate, accessible content in Thai and English, using news reports, interviews, infographics, short videos, and special programs.

Information will be distributed via radio, television, online platforms, and regional networks to reach the public, businesses, and international investors, while highlighting Thailand’s economic and tourism potential.

The Minister also called for ongoing reporting on post-meeting developments to ensure the public understands new opportunities, implementation processes, and the benefits of economic cooperation for living standards. (NNT)
