A brief spell of rain left Pattaya’s highways and streets wet on Friday, reminding motorists to slow down and drive carefully as October showers continue across eastern Thailand.

PATTAYA, Thailand – Pattaya and other parts of eastern Thailand received a moderate spell of rain Friday, October 16, with showers lasting around 30 minutes but leaving highways, main roads and city streets wet. Although the rainfall was relatively brief, the wet road surfaces created potentially hazardous driving conditions for motorists travelling through Pattaya and surrounding areas.

Drivers are advised to reduce speed, maintain a safe distance from vehicles ahead, avoid sudden braking and take extra care at junctions and on slippery road surfaces. Motorcyclists should be particularly cautious, especially when passing over painted road markings and metal covers.

The Thai Meteorological Department forecasts further thundershowers across the eastern region, including Chonburi, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat, with isolated heavy rain possible. The department advises people to remain alert to changing weather conditions and potential hazards from accumulated rainfall.

With October’s rainy season not yet over, motorists should remain prepared for further showers in the coming days. Even a short burst of rain can leave roads slippery and reduce tyre grip, particularly during the first minutes of rainfall.
