PATTAYA, Thailand – Pattaya Tourist Police have shown that their team spirit extends beyond duty, visiting an injured volunteer at his family’s food shop and providing financial assistance to support his recovery. Wichit Sangkhawattana, a volunteer with the Pattaya Tourist Police bicycle patrol team, was injured when his motorcycle collided with a car on Thappraya Road on the night of October 10. He was returning to his accommodation after completing his daily duty when the accident occurred. After receiving treatment at Pattaya Bhattamakhun Hospital, Wichit returned to recover at the family’s food shop, where his mother was on hand to welcome the visiting officers.
On October 11, Tourist Police officers visited Wichit, bringing a gift basket and financial support. They checked on his condition, asked about the progress of the case and pledged to coordinate with the investigating officer handling the collision. The visit offered encouragement to Wichit and his family, sending a clear message that volunteers who help protect others will not be forgotten when they need support themselves.
