BANGKOK, Thailand – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) today welcomed LOT Polish Airlines flight LO65 on its inaugural arrival from Warsaw at Suvarnabhumi Airport, launching the carrier’s first scheduled direct service to Thailand. Timed for the year-end travel season, the route expands access from Poland and Central Europe, with TAT supporting the new capacity through partnership activity and a familiarisation trip aimed at stimulating demand, attracting higher-spending, longer-stay visitors and dispersing tourism expenditure nationwide.
The welcoming delegation was led by Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, TAT Governor, together with executives of TAT and LOT Polish Airlines and representatives from Airports of Thailand, Suvarnabhumi Airport and the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand.
Ms. Thapanee said, “This new direct connection to Bangkok is the first destination in Southeast Asia, reflecting TAT’s direction to turn stronger air access into higher tourism value. Through our Value over Volume and Partnership 360 strategies, we are working with airlines and travel partners to attract quality, longer-stay travellers, broaden access to destinations across Thailand and distribute tourism income more widely. Stronger connectivity with Poland and Central Europe also reinforces Thailand’s competitiveness as a leading global tourism hub.”
LOT Polish Airlines will operate the Warsaw–Bangkok route three times weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays from 7–25 October 2026. Flight LO65 departs Warsaw Chopin Airport at 15.45 hrs and arrives at Suvarnabhumi Airport at 07.05 hrs the following day, while return flight LO66 departs Bangkok at 09.05 hrs and arrives in Warsaw at 15.20 hrs.

From 26 October 2026 through March 2027, frequency will increase to five flights weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays, providing up to 1,260 inbound seats per week during the winter schedule.
The service provides a direct alternative to connecting journeys between Poland, nearby countries and Thailand, strengthening Bangkok’s role as a gateway to destinations across Thailand and Southeast Asia. It also supports growth in the longer-stay Polish market, including demand for Bangkok, Chon Buri, Phuket, Krabi, Ko Samui and other coastal destinations, while creating opportunities to introduce emerging destinations and new travel routes. In the reverse direction, Warsaw connects Thai travellers with LOT Polish Airlines’ network of more than 100 destinations across Europe and other regions.
Alongside the launch, the TAT Prague Office is hosting a 30-member delegation comprising 6 Polish travel operators, 18 media representatives and 6 LOT Polish Airlines executives on a Bangkok–Rayong–Bangkok familiarisation trip from 8–11 October 2026. The programme provides first-hand experience of Thai tourism products and services to support new itineraries and destination content, while strengthening cooperation with airline, travel trade and media partners to stimulate demand, bookings and visitor expenditure from Poland and Central Europe.

Founded in 1928, LOT Polish Airlines is Poland’s national carrier and one of the world’s longest-established airlines. Based at Warsaw Chopin Airport, with secondary hubs in Katowice and Kraków, the airline has been a Star Alliance member since 2003. LOT previously operated seasonal charter services to Bangkok, Phuket and Krabi before introducing the scheduled Warsaw–Bangkok route.
Poland continues to grow strongly as a source market for Thailand. In 2025, Thailand welcomed 237,570 Polish visitors, up 31.46 per cent year on year. From 1 January to 30 September 2026, arrivals reached 164,807, up 12 per cent from the same period in 2025. TAT forecasts approximately 250,000 Polish visitors for the full year. Polish travellers stay in Thailand for around 14 days on average, with Bangkok, Chonburi, Phuket, Krabi and Ko Samui among the most popular destinations. (TAT)
