NAKHON RATCHASIMA, Thailand – The Chong Chom Customs House encourages domestic and international investors to expand in Nakhon Ratchasima, citing a strong Fiscal Year 2026 with over 3.5 billion baht in economic activity and revenue targets exceeded by 568 percent. In line with directives to enhance private-sector cooperation, Head of the Chong Chom Customs House Prasit Deejongcharoen reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to facilitating trade and maximizing tax privileges. Despite the permanent closure of the local border crossing, economic activity in Nakhon Ratchasima and Buri Ram continues to grow. Facilities such as two international airports, three free zones, and a manufacturing bonded warehouse are expanding in sectors including bus manufacturing, beverages, and medical equipment.

Prasit noted that proactive trade facilitation delivered strong results in FY2026, as the office collected over 33.4 million baht in direct customs revenue, exceeding its target by 568 percent, and collected an additional 74.7 million baht for other state agencies. These efforts supported more than 3.5 billion baht in export-driven activity and created about 2,000 jobs. In addition to economic initiatives, the customs house enforced strict consumer protection measures. Authorities confiscated over 79,000 illegal and substandard items, including counterfeit products, unapproved foods, and illicit electronics, valued at 101.4 million baht in 55 cases.

Looking ahead, customs officials are actively promoting Nakhon Ratchasima as a leading investment hub. Prasit emphasized the province’s strategic location, large workforce, and strong infrastructure, including the M6 motorway, which connects to central resources and eastern seaboard ports. With available customs tax privileges, the region offers businesses significant opportunities to reduce costs and improve liquidity. (NNT)
