PATTAYA, Thailand – A Tesla driver has warned motorists to remain alert after a stranger suddenly ran toward his car and tried to open the driver-side door while he was driving through Pattaya.
The incident was reported after Facebook user Mongkol Thanarjna posted a video of the encounter in the “TESLA THAILAND” group on October 2. The video, about one minute long, shows a man approaching the vehicle and attempting to open the door.
Mongkol, 28, later told reporters that the incident happened at about 6 p.m. on September 27 while he was driving along Thappraya Road in Pattaya during continuous rain. He said he noticed a man standing near the road before the man suddenly ran toward his vehicle and tried to open the driver-side door. The unexpected move frightened him, but the man was unable to open the door. Mongkol immediately drove away from the area to ensure his safety.
He later went to Pattaya City Police Station to report the incident. He said officers informed him that no property had been damaged, so the matter was not formally accepted as a criminal complaint.
Mongkol subsequently shared the video with fellow Tesla users to find out whether anyone else had experienced a similar incident. He also urged motorists and members of the public to exercise caution when encountering unusual behavior on the road.
