Bangkok opens flood relief claims for damaged homes and livelihoods

Bangkok residents affected by flooding can apply for financial assistance through the Tang Rath app, BMA online system or their district office.

BANGKOK, Thailand – The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has opened applications for financial assistance for residents affected by flooding, covering both initial government relief and compensation for damage and repairs. Flood-affected residents can apply for initial government assistance via the Tang Rath application or at their district office. Residents can submit applications for BMA assistance with damage and repair costs through the BMA’s online claims system or at the district office during official hours. Applications must be submitted within 30 days of the disaster.



Under BMA criteria, eligible applicants must have a primary residence that was damaged or flooded and be located within an officially declared emergency assistance zone. Renters and residents not listed on the household registration may also apply if they meet the requirements and provide supporting documents.

Assistance is determined by actual damage and eligibility. Maximum support includes up to 88,600 baht for home repairs (excluding rented homes), up to 3,000 baht per month for temporary accommodation for up to two months, and up to 13,500 baht per household for occupational tools and working capital.


Medical assistance is available up to 2,000 baht for outpatient treatment and 4,000 baht for inpatient care. Additional support includes 2,300 baht for eligible injury cases, funeral expenses up to 35,700 baht per person, and up to 35,700 baht in family assistance if the deceased was the primary household income earner.

Applicants should prepare identification, household registration, evidence of damage, and any other required documents. A police report is not required. Payments will be made via PromptPay linked to a national ID number or to an eligible bank account.
