Defense Minister Lt. Gen. Adul Boonthumjaroen inspects baggage operations at Suvarnabhumi Airport, where military personnel are helping process the remaining backlog.

BANGKOK, Thailand – Defense Minister Lt. Gen. Adul Boonthumjaroen inspected baggage-handling operations at Suvarnabhumi Airport on September 30, where Royal Thai Air Force personnel have been deployed to help clear delayed baggage. Representatives from Airports of Thailand (AOT) and Thai Airways International briefed him on the situation, operational challenges, and areas requiring additional support. Around 5,600 pieces of baggage remained backlogged as of September 29 following disruptions to ground operations and baggage handling. Thai Airways has reduced some flights to ease pressure on airport operations and allow personnel to process delayed baggage more quickly.

During his visit to the baggage-handling area, Lt. Gen. Adul spoke with personnel about current procedures and operational constraints. The Armed Forces are providing assistance at the request of responsible agencies and remain prepared to deploy additional personnel and resources where needed. AOT, Thai Airways, other relevant agencies, and the Armed Forces will continue working together to clear the remaining baggage, minimize disruption to passengers, and return operations to normal.
