PATTAYA, Thailand – A 36-year-old Chinese tourist reported an alleged assault to Pattaya police early on October 2, saying he was struck by a car while walking along the roadside before being attacked by the driver and another man. The tourist, identified as Wang, told police that he was walking outside the Altera Hotel on Pattaya Second Road, Soi 4, when a Honda Jazz, registration number 5230 Chonburi, allegedly struck his leg at about 12:50 a.m.

He said the driver, whom he later learned was named Sornnarin, got out of the car and allegedly punched him once in the face. The driver then reportedly called another man to the scene, and the two allegedly assaulted him before fleeing. Police took an initial statement from the tourist and sent him to Pattaya City Hospital for a medical examination to document his injuries for the investigation.

Investigators from Pattaya Police Station are now working to locate the people involved and question them. Officers will examine available evidence, including details surrounding the alleged collision and subsequent assault. The investigation remains ongoing. The accused remain presumed innocent unless and until found guilty by a final court judgment. Pol. Lt. Col. Thanya Udtong, an investigation officer at Pattaya Police Station, is handling the case.

The Honda Jazz allegedly involved in the incident was identified by police through its Chonburi registration plate.
