PATTANI, Thailand – The Internal Security Operations Command (ISOC) Region 4 Forward Command has officially welcomed its new director, Major General Chakrit Ucharatana, who has pledged to continue efforts to promote peace and stability in Thailand’s southern border provinces in 2027.

The handover ceremony took place on September 30 at Sirindhorn Camp in Yarang district, Pattani, following a series of religious ceremonies in which outgoing director Lt. Gen. Norathip Poynok and his successor paid respects at sacred sites within the camp. The two officers then signed the official handover documents before attending the formal transfer of command, witnessed by senior military officers, unit commanders, and personnel from the Fourth Army Region.

He credited their cooperation, unity, and discipline with helping accomplish the command’s missions and earn public recognition. Lt. Gen. Norathip also expressed confidence that Maj. Gen. Chakrit would continue to implement security policies and strategies in the southern border provinces, working closely with all sectors to promote peace and improve the well-being of local communities.

Maj. Gen. Chakrit, who will also assume the position of 4th Army Area Commander on October 1, said he was committed to fulfilling his new responsibilities to the best of his ability. He pledged to maintain public order, improve coordination among relevant agencies, and ensure that operations are carried out effectively under a unified strategy. (NNT)
