The new Hua Hin–U-Tapao air service links two major resort destinations, giving travellers another option while opening new opportunities for regional tourism and business.

PATTAYA, Thailand – A new air service linking Hua Hin with U-Tapao has opened, creating another travel option between two important resort destinations and improving air connections between Thailand’s central and eastern regions. The inaugural Hua Hin–U-Tapao flight marks the start of a new connection designed to make travel between the two destinations more convenient while supporting greater movement between regional tourism centres.

The service is operated by EZY Airlines using a Cessna Caravan C208B aircraft with 10-12 passenger seats. It forms part of a network that includes flights between Hua Hin and U-Tapao, as well as U-Tapao and Surat Thani. Additional routes are reportedly being developed. The new connection could provide an alternative to lengthy road journeys between Hua Hin and the Eastern Seaboard, while making it easier for visitors to combine destinations in different regions.

For the tourism sector, better air connectivity can also create opportunities for hotels, restaurants, tour operators and other businesses by making it easier for visitors to move beyond the country’s major gateway cities. The opening ceremony in Chonburi was attended by Chonburi Deputy Governor Chaiyaporn Phaepiromrat, who officially opened the event, and U-Tapao Airport Director of Administration Capt. Surapong Chaowphetphairoj, who welcomed guests.

Representatives from the Tourism Authority of Thailand, domestic tourism and tour operator associations, eco-tourism and adventure tourism groups, and the Chiang Mai tourism industry also attended the ceremony. The new Hua Hin–U-Tapao connection adds another option to Thailand’s growing regional transport network, potentially making it easier for travellers to combine destinations that previously required longer journeys by road.

For Pattaya and the Eastern Seaboard, the service also provides another air connection to a major resort area on Thailand’s western coast, expanding the range of destinations accessible through U-Tapao.

Chonburi Deputy Governor Chaiyaporn Phaepiromrat and U-Tapao Airport Director of Administration Capt. Surapong Chaowphetphairoj join tourism representatives at the opening ceremony for the new Hua Hin–U-Tapao air connection, strengthening regional travel links and creating opportunities for local tourism businesses.
