Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul told officials in Yala to work with greater urgency and closer coordination, stressing that public confidence and improved living conditions remain top priorities in the southern border region.

BANGKOK, Thailand – Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul chaired a meeting at the Southern Border Provinces Administrative Center in Yala province on Friday (Apr 17), where he reviewed progress and outlined policy direction for the region.

Prime Minister Anutin said the government continues to treat the southern border provinces as a national priority, with coordinated efforts from the Cabinet and security agencies to address ongoing challenges and improve living conditions. The meeting also highlighted the role of experienced figures, including former House Speaker Wan Muhamad Noor Matha, in supporting work in the area.

The premier called on all officials to carry out their duties with urgency, modern approaches, and timely execution, while maintaining close coordination across agencies. The approach follows the principle of “Understand, Reach, Develop,” based on the royal philosophy of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great. Under this framework, authorities are encouraged to build a clear understanding of local conditions, engage directly with communities, and implement solutions that improve livelihoods.

Anutin also stressed the importance of moving forward together, with agencies working in unity and avoiding past divisions. He stated that building public confidence remains the government’s top policy, with efforts directed at ensuring communities understand government actions and feel assured about ongoing development.
