PATTAYA, Thailand – Summer heat is intensifying across the country, with Pattaya facing hot and hazy conditions while northern Thailand sees temperatures soar as high as 42°C.
The Thai Meteorological Department said upper Thailand is under a heat-driven low-pressure system, bringing widespread hot weather and hazy skies during the day. In Pattaya and the eastern region, temperatures are expected to reach the mid-30s Celsius, with high humidity making conditions feel even more uncomfortable.
Further north, the heat is far more severe, with maximum temperatures ranging between 37–42°C in some areas, marking the highest levels nationwide.
Residents and tourists in Pattaya are being urged to take precautions, especially during the afternoon when the sun is strongest. Extended exposure to heat can quickly lead to exhaustion, particularly for those not used to Thailand’s tropical climate.
There is also a slight chance of isolated thunderstorms, which may bring short bursts of rain and gusty winds, offering only temporary relief from the heat.
Meanwhile, southern Thailand is experiencing more active weather, with thunderstorms and occasional strong winds. Sea conditions remain generally calm, though waves may rise above one meter in stormy areas.
With Songkran approaching and outdoor activity increasing, authorities are advising people to stay hydrated, avoid prolonged time in direct sunlight, and remain cautious of sudden weather changes.
