BANGKOK, Thailand – The Government Savings Bank (GSB) has emerged as the leading award recipient at the WSBI–ESBG SDG Awards 2025, securing six honors and the highest number of awards presented at the global sustainability platform. The awards, held for the first time, recognize financial institutions for practical contributions aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

The bank received awards in consumer education, climate finance, consumer protection, digital transformation and technological innovation, economic growth and empowerment, and inclusive banking and social impact. The program is organized by the World Savings and Retail Banking Institute and the European Savings and Retail Banking Group, with entries from member institutions in more than 76 countries across five continents.

Officials said the recognition represents the bank’s vital role as a social bank that integrates environmental, social, and governance principles into its operations while maintaining financial strength. Its work spans social, environmental, and economic dimensions and aims to deliver measurable outcomes.

Among the initiatives cited were the use of ESG scores in credit and investment decisions, the MyMo Secure Plus mobile banking security system, and expanded digital services that support end-to-end lending. The GSB has also broadened access to financial literacy and savings education for diverse population groups.

Other award-winning efforts include programs supporting youth, community enterprises, and area-based development that strengthen local economies, social resilience, and environmental management. (NNT)
