BANGKOK, Thailand – The Ministry of Tourism and Sports has brought the 13th ASEAN Para Games to a close with a ceremony at the 80th Birthday Anniversary Commemorative Stadium in Nakhon Ratchasima, concluding Thailand’s role as host from January 20 to 26. Minister of Tourism and Sports Atthakorn Sirilatthayakorn presided over the event, joined by sports officials, organizers, athletes, and delegates from ASEAN member countries.

The ceremony took place in a warm, celebratory atmosphere, opening with a cultural performance showcasing Nakhon Ratchasima’s heritage. This was followed by a parade of athletes from across the region, symbolizing friendship and shared experiences formed during the Games.

The ASEAN Para Games flag was later handed over to Malaysia, which will host the 14th edition of the Games in 2027, continuing regional cooperation through para sports.

Team Thailand delivered a commanding performance, finishing as the overall gold medal leader. The result marked the country’s strongest showing in more than a decade and underscored the progress of Thai para-athletes, supported by structured development programs and coordinated government and related-sector backing.

The government expressed appreciation to organizers, partner agencies, volunteers, athletes, coaches, and the public for their support, which contributed to the Games’ success and lasting national pride.
