Prime Minister Anutin pays New Year visit to troops guarding Thai–Cambodian border

Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul meets troops at the Phu Luang Operations Base in Surin’s Kap Choeng district on January 2, offering New Year greetings, morale-support supplies, and sacred amulets during a visit to review border security conditions.

SURIN, Thailand – Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul visited Surin province today (Jan 2) to observe security conditions along the Thai–Cambodian border. He was accompanied by Deputy Defense Minister Lt Gen Adul Boonthamcharoen and an official delegation at the Phu Luang Operations Base in Kap Choeng district.

The delegation was greeted by Surin Governor Charoen Waenphet, Deputy Governor Praphat Srichanwiang, the Kap Choeng district chief, and representatives from government agencies and security units, who provided briefings on the local security situation and ongoing operations.



During the visit, the prime minister exchanged New Year greetings and offered encouragement to troops stationed in the area. He also presented morale-support supplies to military personnel who have remained on duty over the past period in support of border security.

During the visit, the prime minister distributed sacred Phra Narai Song Khrut (Garuda and Vishnu) amulets to officers as symbols of protection and reassurance, encouraging them to wear them as a source of blessing, strength, and confidence in their duties. (NNT)
