Health authorities report civilian casualties and displacement along Thai–Cambodian border

Medical personnel and officials coordinate public health and humanitarian support at a temporary shelter for displaced civilians near the Thailand–Cambodia border, where authorities report casualties, injuries, and disruptions to healthcare services.

BANGKOK, Thailand – The Joint Press Center reported the medical and public health situation along the Thailand–Cambodia border as of 27 December 2025 at 08.00 hrs.

The update reports 45 civilian fatalities, including 44 from collateral effects and one from direct Cambodian attacks. Thirteen more civilians have suffered injuries.

A total of 704 temporary shelters have been established for displaced populations, accommodating 118,981 people.



The situation has affected healthcare facilities in the area. Eighteen hospitals and 240 sub-district health-promoting hospitals were reported as affected.

​Relevant authorities continue to coordinate medical services, public health support, and humanitarian assistance to ensure care for affected civilians and continuity of essential health services in the border areas. (NNT)
