PATTAYA, Thailand — The Meteorological Department has forecast slightly higher temperatures in Thailand’s upper regions over the next 24 hours, but mornings will remain cool with some fog. Meanwhile, the southern provinces are expected to experience scattered thunderstorms in the lower southern areas.

For Pattaya and the surrounding central region, residents can expect partly cloudy skies with morning fog. Temperatures will rise slightly from yesterday, with lows of 23–25°C and highs reaching 33–35°C. Northeasterly winds will blow at speeds of 10–20 km/h. The department advised the public to take care during the cooler mornings, especially early in the day when fog may reduce visibility.

In the southern provinces, light rainfall is expected, with more intense showers in areas such as Songkhla, Pattani, Yala, and Narathiwat. The northeast monsoon is bringing moisture over the Gulf of Thailand, causing waves of 1–2 meters in the lower Gulf region. Mariners are advised to navigate with caution and avoid areas with thunderstorms, where waves may exceed 2 meters.

Looking ahead to December 25–28, rainfall in southern Thailand is expected to increase, with heavy to very heavy rain in the lower south due to the strengthening northeast monsoon. Residents in affected areas should remain vigilant and prepare for potential flooding and water accumulation.
