BANGKOK, Thailand – The Prime Minister’s Office has hosted an award ceremony at Government House to recognize the “Outstanding Government Information Centers 2025,” with Deputy Prime Minister Sophon Zaram presiding over the presentation of certificates and plaques. The event took place at the Santi Maitri Building and involved 98 government agencies from across the country.

Senior officials from the Prime Minister’s Office, including Permanent Secretary Yupha Taweewattanakitborvon, also attended the ceremony. The awards honored agencies that demonstrated strong performance in providing public access to government information in line with the Official Information Act.

The deputy prime minister outlined the importance of government agencies making key operational information readily available and responding appropriately to public requests, while safeguarding personal rights and public interests. He noted that this approach strengthens accountability and supports citizen participation in public administration, in step with the country’s expanding digital environment.

Among the recipients, 12 agencies received Gold-level awards, including the Office of the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Transport, the Department of International Trade Negotiations, the Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand, the Metropolitan Waterworks Authority, and several provincial treasury offices. Sixteen agencies received Silver-level awards, 21 were given Bronze-level recognition, and 49 agencies were acknowledged at the Standard level.

Officials said government agencies are expected to continue improving the accessibility and timeliness of public information through government information centers and digital platforms, enabling the public to access official information more efficiently and conveniently. (NNT)
