PATTAYA, Thailand – Pattaya City reinforced its image as a safe global tourist destination by hosting “CPR on the Beach 2025,” a large-scale life-saving skills training event that drew more than 2,000 participants at the Blue Activity Zone on Pattaya Beach, December 12.

Mayor Poramet Ngampichet welcomed participants, while Pongthasit Pijanant, Deputy Governor of Chonburi, presided over the opening ceremony. The event was jointly opened by Dr. Pichet Nongchang, Secretary-General of the National Institute for Emergency Medicine (NIEM), Dr. Piyaporn Thipyarat, Director of Bangkok Pattaya Hospital, representatives from Jomtien Hospital, and Prasit Thongtitjarern, President of the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation, Pattaya.

As a world-class tourist city welcoming visitors year-round, Pattaya places strong emphasis on equipping residents, tourism operators, and frontline workers with essential emergency response skills. The initiative aims to ensure timely and correct assistance during medical emergencies, enhancing public safety and tourist confidence.

The event was organized in collaboration with NIEM, Bangkok Pattaya Hospital, and the Sawang Boriboon Rescue Foundation. Training focused on basic life support (BLS), including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and the proper use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs). Participants included beach umbrella and massage operators, fishing boat operators, hotel staff, students, and members of the public.

Hands-on workshops featured realistic simulations using training mannequins and medical equipment, with instruction provided by doctors, nurses, emergency responders, and volunteer rescue teams. Participants were guided step-by-step to ensure they could confidently apply the skills in real-life emergencies.

“CPR on the Beach 2025” highlights strong cooperation between Pattaya City, medical institutions, hospitals, and rescue organizations to raise safety standards in tourism areas. The program strengthens community readiness, empowers citizens with life-saving knowledge, and reflects Pattaya’s commitment to being a city that is safe, prepared, and reassuring—24 hours a day.
