BANGKOK, Thailand – The mother of 27-year-old Kanokwan “Baimon” received her daughter’s body at the Police General Hospital’s Institute of Forensic Medicine to bring it back to her hometown in Khon Kaen for religious rites. Kanokwan had fallen from the third floor of a building in Poipet.
While waiting to collect the body, police questioned the mother further regarding her daughter’s timeline before she went missing. The mother, still grieving, could only say briefly that she had not come to terms with the loss. She revealed that her daughter had been out of contact for three months and insisted that Kanokwan was a good person who never had problems with anyone. She continues to seek justice, believing her daughter was murdered elsewhere and her body staged at the building.
Meanwhile, the Vice President of the Organization for Assisting Thais Abroad said that the building where the incident occurred was reportedly a base for scammers, run by Chinese investors. People of multiple nationalities were allegedly tricked into working there and held inside the building, with Kanokwan being one of them. (TNA)
