
BANGKOK, Thailand – Thananon Niramit, wife of Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, posted an apology to the media following criticism over a teasing remark she made toward journalists. She explained that her comment was meant in jest and was not intended to threaten or demean the press.
The controversy arose after she reportedly said, “Why are you being so harsh on the Prime Minister? I’ll remember next time, that’s too much!” during a light-hearted exchange, which drew public criticism.
In her Instagram story, Jaa wrote: “I sincerely apologize to all journalists for my comment the other day. It was meant as a joke, which may have been inappropriate or made some people uncomfortable. I had no intention to threaten or diminish the value of journalists’ work. I appreciate all the feedback and take it sincerely, and I will continue to show respect to all members of the press.” (TNA)
