PATTAYA, Thailand – A 14-year-old motorcyclist was seriously injured early Saturday morning after running a red light and colliding with a car on Sukhumvit Road near the traffic light in central Pattaya. Rescue and police teams arrived promptly to provide assistance and investigate the scene.

The injured motorcyclist sustained multiple abrasions and was transported to a hospital for treatment. The black Yamaha Grand Filano motorbike was heavily damaged. About 10 meters away, authorities found a white Honda Jazz driven by 29-year-old Alongkorn Suwansri, who remained at the scene to cooperate with police.

The young injured admitted to running the red light, explaining that he was rushing to check on his restaurant after receiving a report from authorities that it was on fire. “I panicked and acted quickly without watching the traffic properly,” he said.

The car driver, Alongkorn, stated that he was driving northbound from South Pattaya toward his home and obeying the traffic signal when the collision occurred. He did not see the motorbike before the impact. Police photographed the scene and impounded both vehicles for further inspection and will continue to review the case.
