PATTAYA, Thailand – Thailand’s tourism sector is showing strong signs of recovery, with foreign visitor arrivals surpassing 100,000 per day, boosting the economy as the country heads into the final months of 2025. Pattaya, one of the nation’s most popular beach destinations, is feeling the impact, with hotels, restaurants, and attractions buzzing with activity.
Natriya Taweewong, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, highlighted that international arrivals in the last quarter of the year are rising steadily. Countries such as China, Malaysia, and India are leading the surge, with daily Chinese visitor numbers doubling from under 10,000 to around 20,000 per day, signaling renewed confidence in Thailand’s tourism market.
“This increase in foreign tourists reflects the combination of Thailand’s strong and concrete safety measures, stable border conditions, and absence of flooding in key tourist areas,” Natriya said. “These factors have helped reassure visitors and ensured smooth travel experiences.”
The government has also continued to stimulate tourism through major events and sports activities. Recent global events, including the Women’s Volleyball World Championship, have created positive international exposure for Thailand. In the upcoming months, the country will host the 33rd Southeast Asian Games, traditional festivals like Loy Krathong, the Vijit Chao Phraya Festival, and New Year’s Countdown celebrations, all of which are expected to draw domestic and foreign tourists alike.

Domestic tourism is also being actively encouraged through tax incentives and support for local travel and spending, ensuring revenue circulates throughout the economy.
With Pattaya’s beaches, shopping streets, and entertainment venues filling up again, local businesses are reporting high occupancy rates and strong spending. The city is embracing the influx as a key driver of economic growth during the high season, a trend that mirrors the broader national recovery.
“The growing flow of international visitors is a reminder for all Thai people to act as gracious hosts, welcoming guests with our warm smiles and traditional hospitality,” Natriya said. “Thailand’s tourism recovery demonstrates the country’s safety, service standards, and cultural appeal, drawing visitors back to the Land of Smiles.”
