Rotary members receive introductory safeguarding training from Highgate’s Designated Safeguarding Lead, Mr. Tamlyn Goodrich.

PATTAYA, Thailand – Members of the Rotary Club Global Pattaya took part in an introductory safeguarding session delivered by Mr Tamlyn Goodrich, Designated Safeguarding Lead at Highgate International School Thailand on October 1. The training marked the beginning of a new partnership designed to strengthen community volunteering in Pattaya through greater awareness and understanding of safeguarding principles.

The session aimed to give Rotary members, many of whom are actively involved in community service projects, a clear understanding of how to keep both themselves and the people they support safe. Safeguarding, as explained by Mr Goodrich, is not only about protecting children and vulnerable adults from harm, but also about creating a culture of trust, accountability, and responsible practice.

This workshop was the first step in an ongoing collaboration between Highgate International School Thailand and the Rotary Club Global Pattaya. As part of this partnership, Highgate will provide continued support and training to ensure that Rotary volunteers feel fully confident to meet safeguarding expectations in their work with children, families, and vulnerable groups in the region.

Workshop equips volunteers with knowledge to protect children, vulnerable adults, and foster a culture of trust and accountability.
