BANGKOK, Thailand – Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul stated on Thursday that he will wait for a full security briefing from the National Security Council (NSC) before commenting on a recent New York Times report.
The report alleges that China delivered significant weapons shipments to Cambodia shortly before a major border clash with Thailand.
The Prime Minister confirmed that he would receive the report later the same day, with all NSC members and military leaders in attendance. He also confirmed the NSC agenda includes discussing the appointment of the Thai head of the Joint Border Commission (JBC) with Cambodia.
The Prime Minister is scheduled to visit the border area in Surin province on Friday to follow up on the situation. (TNA)
