
BANGKOK, Thailand – Police have arrested a 33-year-old man for chasing and kicking vehicles on Vibhavadi Rangsit Road near Don Mueang Airport on 1 October. The suspect, who has a history of psychiatric treatment, claimed stress from a past incident involving large vehicles.
Authorities identified the suspect as Natthapong, surname withheld, riding a black Honda ADV 150. He admitted to kicking and hitting multiple cars, causing property damage.
Police charged him with making property damage under Criminal Code Sections 358 and 359(3), as well as multiple traffic violations under the Land Traffic Act (2022), including obstructing traffic, reckless or dangerous driving, driving over lane lines, and driving without regard for safety or public nuisance. The penalties range from fines up to 4,000 baht for each traffic offense to up to three months in jail or fines from 2,000 to 10,000 baht for the most serious violation.
The suspect admitted all charges. Police facilitated a settlement with the vehicle owners on the property damage claim, while the traffic violations will be handled in court or through fines.
During questioning, Natthapong said he suffers from ongoing mental health issues and is scheduled for a follow-up hospital appointment on 6 October.
