KALASIN, Thailand – A Mor Lam performance by the band Mae Thap Dok Mei in Kamalasai district, Kalasin, turned chaotic on September 20 when nearly 20 unruly men disrupted the show, prompting a violent confrontation.
According to reports and widely shared social media clips, the men climbed onto the speakers and danced shirtless during the performance. When staff attempted to intervene to prevent damage to the equipment, the group became physically aggressive and attacked the crew.
“Saen Satan P.K.,” the husband of singer Dok Mei Phenapha and a former professional boxer, stepped in to calm the situation. When one of the men attacked him, Saen Satan defended himself with a left hook to the jaw, knocking the assailant unconscious. The confrontation escalated as others allegedly tried to pull out a knife, but authorities arrived in time to restore order.
Some sound equipment was damaged, and several crew members were injured. Dok Mei Phenapha stressed that she and her team did not provoke the incident and vowed to pursue legal action against the attackers.

Update: Authorities from Kamalasai Police Station have since apprehended the group of unruly men. One member had been released from prison less than a month prior. All suspects are facing multiple charges, including: use of violence or threats with a weapon, joint assault causing injury, carrying a knife in a public area without cause, and intimidation causing fear. The suspects were tested for drugs before being remanded for legal proceedings.
Saen Satan P.K., born Sutthiwat Jenpimai on August 21, 1993, in Khon Kaen, is a former Lumpinee Stadium Light Welterweight champion and WBC world titleholder. He trained at P.K. Saenchai Muay Thai Gym and is known in the ring by nicknames such as Saen Satharn and Saen Sathorn.
The incident highlights ongoing concerns over public safety at live events in Thailand, where entertainers and security personnel may face unpredictable confrontations from aggressive attendees.
