PATTAYA, Thailand – Pattaya city has joined the nationwide initiative “Drive Safe, Live Safe” to foster traffic discipline and improve road safety. The program was officially launched on September 5 by Ms. Boon-ngam Lekcharoen, Director of the Religion and Culture Promotion Division, on behalf of Pattaya Mayor Poramet Ngampichet. The event was held at the multipurpose courtyard of Pattaya City School 11 (Pattaya Demonstration School) in collaboration with Sompo Insurance (Thailand) Public Company Limited and the Bang Lamung Police.

The project engages students and the local community in reducing traffic accidents and promoting road safety. Activities were divided into two main areas. Preventive measures included installing 12 safety signboards throughout Pattaya, improving pedestrian crossings near the school, and providing traffic safety and road rule training to over 860 high school students.

Proactive initiatives involved distributing 860 white helmets to students, allowing them to decorate the helmets to encourage pride and proper use, and creating a “Connection Area” within the school as a safe traffic zone symbol.

The program combines educational and interactive activities to instill road safety awareness and traffic discipline in students, aiming to contribute to long-term reductions in accidents within Pattaya.

Pattaya students take part in the “Drive Safe, Live Safe” initiative, learning traffic safety, receiving decorated helmets, and practicing road awareness in a dedicated school “Connection Area,” highlighting the importance of motorcycle safety as their main mode of transport.
